MSU Denver Club Baseball Season Recap
History records that MSU Denver’s club baseball team concluded its 2013 spring season by falling short of high expectations set a year ago.
Finishing the season 7-5 in league play was difficult to swallow. In addition to facing bad weather throughout the season, encountering new and stiff competition played a large role in thwarting the team’s goals of reaching the district playoffs and the National Club Baseball Association World Series in Kentucky. Still, club president and senior, Ryan Garbarino, sees opportunity in helping steer the team in the right direction thanks to a core of leaders and skilled players likely to return next season.
Needless to say, this spring has been anything but a Lamb. It also seems to only choose the days that we have games scheduled to act up. Keep your fingers crossed and lets hope this last snow is the last of the season. We have a lot of games to pack into the rest of this month. We will attempt to keep you up to date as we reschedule the rest of our games. Also, make sure to check the schedule on this website to get the most up to date information.
The excitement of a new season is building as Metro State University of Denver’s club baseball team prepares for the upcoming spring campaign.
Ryan Garbarino, club president, and Geno Espineli, pitching coach and former Triple A player for the Colorado Spring Sky Sox, have an excellent opportunity to build on a successful fall and go beyond previous years’ accomplishments. With carry-over leadership, depth and rising stars, the Roadrunners have the potential to surpass last spring’s record and challenge for a playoff run, with the ultimate goal of reaching the National Club Baseball Association World Series in Kentucky. Because of these key ingredients to success, the team has great optimism for this season.
